The school’s cultural week Spectrum -A Flare of Talent concluded colourfully on Monday. Principal Ms. Shubha Jose presided over the program.In her address, she congratulated the talented students and stressed on to further improve their skills.

Cultural Incharges Ms. Namrata D’souza and Ms.Shalini Chittora said that competitions like Inter house English skit ,English- Hindi debates ,Solo and Group dance- song ,GK quiz, Mehndi Art ,Best out of Waste etc. were organised throughout the week.

In the concluding episode of Spectrum, Group dance, English skit and Fashion Show were organised. Principal Ms.Shubha Jose, Vice Principal Incharge Mr. Anil Goswami and Ms. Kalpana Jain honoured and awarded the winners by giving them prizes and certificates.

At the end, Vice Principal in charge Mr. Anil Goswami expressed his gratitude by proposing vote of thanks.

The extracurricular activities provided a platform to the kindergartners to explore and catalyse their hidden talents.Such events not only boost their confidence but also develop their inter-personal relationship.

The Kindercove wing of the St. Gregorios Senior Secondary School, Udaipur organised a Talent Week for the Tiny tots. It was an excellent combination of talent, competitive spirit and excitement.

The fest started on 9 October 2023 with the symbolic custom of lighting the lamp which upholds the culture and tradition of India.

The week was lined up with an array of competitions: Dance, Recitation, Fancy dress, Art and Craft, Story Telling and Clay Modelling. A wave of excitement and joy touched the hearts and minds of little ones.

The talent week concluded on 12 October 2023 with the Prize Distribution ceremony where the winners were commended and awarded by the Principal Ms. Shubha Jose and the Vice Principal incharge Mr. Anil Goswami.

Ms. Shubha Jose also appreciated the meticulous efforts put in by the teachers and parents.

St. Gregorios once again emerged victorious by claiming the championship in Judo in District-Level Games

Under 67th District level tournaments, St. Gregorios Sr.Sec. School participated in U-17 girls and U-17 boys format and they won the Championship by showing the incredible performances under both the categories.

Congratulating the winners Principal Ms.Shubha Jose informed that in U-17 girls’ category Gehna Makhija (48kgs) bagged a gold medal, Mahika Vyas (40kgs) , Pahal Bokdia (56kgs) and Bhumi Kumawat (70kgs) have won silver medals. Himanshi Jhala (63kgs) bagged bronze medal in U-17 girls’ category.

In U-19 girls’ category , Upkeerat Kaur (52kgs) and the Dishi Porwal (55kgs) bagged bronze medals.

In U-17 boys’ category, Pritam Rawat (66kgs), Prashant Kathuria (81kgs) and Mihir Nalwaya (90kgs) secured gold medals while Vishwa Pratap (73kgs)and Nehil Porwal (56kgs)captured bronze.

In U-19 boys’ category, Vedansh Taunk (66kgs) seized a gold and Saksham Gera (73kgs) bagged a bronze medal.

Prize distribution ceremony was organized in Talent Academy Senior Secondary School Pula where championship trophy was given away to St.Gregorios Sr. Sec.School. School.

St. Gregorios Sr. Sec. School, Udaipur organised the Investiture Ceremony for its newly appointed members of the Student Council on 19th August 2023, Saturday.

The Chief Guest of the programme was DySP, Women welfare and research cell, Ms. Chetna Bhati.

Hon’ble Vice Chairman of St. Gregorios Orthodox Church Society :Mr. John Varghese, Hon’ble Secretary: Mr. Babu John, Hon’ble Treasurer: Mr. Junesh Thomas and member of the society, Mr. Samuel Kutty graced the occasion.

After the prayer and lighting of the lamp, Vice Principal, Mr. Anil Goswami formally welcomed the dignitaries.

Principal, Ms. Shubha Jose, presided over the oath taking ceremony and the Prefectorial Body made a solemn vow of discipline, dedication, to maintain the secrecy of posts and to always keep the benefit of students first.

The Chief Guest marked the event as an opportunity for future leaders to learn to be responsible citizens , to put service before self and to work hard to attain their goals. She guided them to be strong and not to be afraid of failures.

The vote of thanks was rendered by Ms. Shahnaz Amar. The ceremony was concluded with National Anthem.

The Independence Day celebration at St. Gregorios Sr. Sec. School in Udaipur was a grand event filled with patriotic spirit. The presence of Mr. Rahul Bhatnagar, I.F.S., as the Chief Guest, brought a wealth of experience and wisdom to the event.

A synchronized parade with the participation of NCC, Scouts & Guides, School Band, and the Houses added to the festive spirit. The combination of patriotic songs, dances, and choral recitation in English and Hindi created a nostalgic feeling of patriotic camaraderie. Our talented student Amberr Jain threw light on the importance of the day.

Hon’ble Vice Chairman of St.Gregorios Orthodox Church Society, Mr. John Varghese and Hon’ble Secretary, Mr. Babu John witnessed and applauded the celebrations. Principal, Ms. Shubha Jose welcomed the dignitaries and urged the students to be the true torch-bearers.

The vote of thanks was rendered by the Vice Principal I/c Mr Anil Goswami. He applauded the efforts of each and every one and motivated the students to do their best in anything that they take up.

Today, on August 12, 2023, St. Gregorios Senior Secondary School celebrated International Youth Day with great enthusiasm and a strong commitment to promote sustainability.

Each year, International Youth Day focuses on a specific theme that highlights various aspects of empowering and nurturing youth. In 2023, the selected theme is ‘Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World.’ “Green skills encompass the knowledge, abilities, values, and attitudes needed to live in, develop, and support a sustainable and resource-efficient society.”

We, at St. Gregorios Senior Secondary School, take pride in being at the forefront of initiating these changes in our society through education. A seminar was conducted on ‘Plastic Free World’ by FiniLoop, based on this theme. Plastic pollution is a global concern, and initiatives like this play a vital role in raising awareness and encouraging positive change. It’s remarkable that FiniLoop has been involved in projects that have contributed to making cities like Indore and Udaipur cleaner and more environmentally conscious.

Mr. Dilshad Khan and Mr. Junesh Thomas addressed the students, sharing information about the dangers of plastic usage. Both students and staff took a vow to reduce plastic usage and work towards a cleaner and greener environment. Mr. Rahul, Mr. Balkishan, and Ms. Deepika were also present from FiniLoop.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks and the students taking the “मतदाता शपथ” (oath of a responsible citizen).

‘Harmony, as the word suggests, is a pleasing combination of musical notes, colours and togetherness.’

The event was organised from 24th July, 2023 to 28th July, 2023 to showcase the talents of our budding artists and was followed by prize distribution ceremony. The students participated enthusiastically in various competitions such as: Solo dance , English and Hindi Recitation, English and Hindi Writing, Drawing, Solo song,Fancy Dress , Collage making, English and Hindi Story telling.

Principal ma’am, Ms. Shubha Jose, Vice Principal Sir, Mr. Anil Goswami, Cultural Secretaries Madam Charlette D’Souza, and Madam Taranjeet Kour, along with the other teachers, witnessed the program.Principal Madam congratulated all the participants and felicitated them by giving them prizes.Here are some glimpses of the program………..

This event was celebrated by the pre-primary classes in which the children were dressed up in blue outfits and carried items which were blue in color. The event was to create an aesthetic sense for “Blue colour”.

An orientation workshop was organized on the topic “Teaching Methodology” and “Activity based Teaching” The resource person for the workshop was Ms. Shubha Jose-Vice Principal of the school. With the help of the workshop, she enlightened the teachers about the various methods of teaching which makes learning a fun. The introduction for the workshop was done by Ms. Namrata D’Souza. She demonstrated an activity based mock lesson which was used as a tool for the workshop.

The senior section of the school organized an English debate competition for the junior students comprising of class VI to VIII. The topic for the group was “Social Networking sites”-A boon or a bane. The winners of the group were:

  3. Tasneem Heetawala -Pratap House

The Senior group (class IX & X) debated on the topic “Can artificial intelligence replace human intelligence”. The winners of the senior group were:

  1. Anushka Tuli- Tagore House
  2. Chitrakashi Jain – Raman House
  3. Riddhi Manwani (Tagore House) & Prashi Jain (Pratap house)

A school picnic was organized for the students of VI standard. The students visited Marvel water park located at Goverdhan Vilas in Udaipur city. It was fun filled outing for the students.

The first mid-term exams for student of class XI commenced on August 22 to 28.10. 2022.

With an objective to expose students to the practical Challenges in the business scenario and to build self- confidence by conducting co-curricular activities in this field, an initiative was taken by the SGSS Commerce Department and a Commerce Club was established in the school.

The SGSS Mathematic Department, as a unique initiative conducted a counselling session for the students of Class IX and guided them in the selection of Standard Mathematics or Basic Mathematics.

A book bank and Social Science lab were inaugurated by Mr. Rakesh Jain (Town councilor). The office bearers of the School Management Committee, Rev. Father Jose V Mathew, the Manager, the Principal Ms. Preeti Mathur and the Vice Principal Ms. Shubha Jose also participated in the inauguration ceremony. The initiative was taken to start the book bank so that the old and not in use books could be shared with the students who needed them.

A solo dance competition was held for classes I -V in which the students showcased their dancing talent depicting various dance forms.

Magician’s visit to the school

Renowned Magician of the city Aanchal visited the school with her team and performed some of her magic tricks before the students. During the questionnaire session her answers motivated the students.

The winners of the senior group were

  3. Neeti Jain (Raman House) Class IX C & Manasvi Nenava (Gandhi house) Class X C

The Teacher’s Day celebration in the school was preponed and held on September 3 instead of September 5 because of a Government Holiday. The event was organized by the students of Class XI. The programme was presided by Rev. Father Jose V Mathew, the Manager of the school.  The programme started with the lighting of the lamp and Pushpanjali was offered to Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. The various programmes constituted of Group dance, group song andgames for teachers. The games were conducted by Prashi Jain and Team. Mugda Maheshwari, a student delivered a speech on the occasion. The vote of thanks was delivered by the Vice Principal Ms. Shubha Jose.

Onam festival, the festival of Kerala was celebrated in the school on September 08. The celebrations began with the lighting of the lamp and chanting of joyous trills of the shloka. The students of class IX conducted the special assembly. The scintillating speech on Onam Festival was delivered by Ms. Anushka Tuli.

The Vice Principal, Ms. Shubha Jose welcomed the dignitaries and briefed the gathering about the nuances of the festival. She recited a poem which described the uniqueness of the festival. Her introduction became the prelude to the skit which was performed by the students. The skit was the main the attraction of the entire programmme and the students. Boat race, Group Dance and Group Songs were also a part of the skit. Popular games like Uriyadi (breaking the pot) and Vadamvali (tug of war)were also conducted to mark the festival. The compering of the entire programme was done by Chavi Kalra and Vansh Gehlot.Pukallam competitions (House wise) was also held as a part of the celebrations. The members of the jury were the honorable members of the Management Committee. The winners of the competition were:

First :Tagore House- Team Riddhi Manwani, Manvi Punjabi, Charu Sharma and Rajkumari Chouhan.

Second: Raman House- Team Vritika Narula, Feba Jacob, Prinisha Jain and Juisel Daniel

Third : Gandhi House- Team Jhanvi Chandrayan, Palak Bandwal, Kanak Sharma and AnupriyaAnimon.

Senior level Competitions – Rangoli and Mandana for class VI to X

Judges for the competitions were Principal Ms. Preeti Mathur, Ms. Indira Bhandari and Ms. Ragini Gaur.

The winners for the Rangoli Competition were:

First: Pratap House-Team Sakina Zari (VI A), Labdhi Jain (VII D) and Shrishti Nebhnani (X D)

Second : Tagore House – Team Harshita Soni (IX D), Kavyanshi Sanadhya (VIII A), Archita Vanvadiya (IX A) and Vidika Chopra (X D)

Third : Team- Krishna Paahuja (X C), Avneet Kanda (X D), Mahika Vyas (IX B) and Chitrakshi Jain (IX A)
